At Timberlane Pet Hospital & Resort, we firmly believe in helping to better our community in which we work and live. Our entire team loves working together to make a positive difference in the lives of others in our community. While our main focus is on improving the quality of lives for the animals in the community, we also have events that focus on the quality of lives for the citizens in our community. Please check out a few of the events that we are involved in throughout the year & if you would like to be involved in one of them, please contact us at 813-754-PETS.
Fashion, Feathers, and Fur is an event that we started 4 years ago and it has grown by leaps and bounds each year. This event is held annually to benefit local animal charities. We have a large number of silent and live auctions that are available for purchase at the event to raise money for these groups. We have dogs, cats, and birds available for adoption at the event that are shown off by our lovely local celebrity models. We have the Strawberry Festival Queen and her court as well as other local celebrities modeling for us each year. Along with the fashion show that is hosted by Dr. Layton & Chip Carter from Fox 13, we also have food, drinks and amazing desserts by local celebrities. Last year we raised over $30,000 to give back to local animal charities. Check out the website to join us for this year’s 4th Annual Fashion, Feathers & Fur. Relay for Life is a very important event for all of us at Timberlane. Nearly all of us have been touched by someone in our lives who we have lost to cancer or who is a cancer survivor. We also have a number of clients and patients that are affected by this disease as well. This event celebrates both of those types of people. We raise money for cancer research as well as for programs that benefit the survivors and caregivers. The events we sponsor yearly to raise money and awareness of Relay For Life are our Annual Santa Pet Pictures in December (Pictures taken by Karen & Sarah from In The Field Magazine), our annual bonfire and cookout in February/March, which is always a ton of fun, as well as the Relay For Life of Plant City Event itself which occurs in April every year.
Pit Bull Awareness Day with Hillsborough Animal Health Foundation & Hillsborough County Animal Services was a great event that we were involved in for the last two years. Together with a number of other veterinarians, we were able to examine, vaccinate and microchip over 200 dogs in low-income areas of Tampa. We hope to continue partnering with Hillsborough County Animal Services to continue to perform other community service events like this throughout the year!
All of us at Timberlane got into this career initially because of our love for animals. There are a number of local animal rescue groups that we work with on a day to day basis to provide medical care and compassion to aid with some of the most difficult cases of abuse and neglect you can imagine. These rescue groups work on donations from individuals to be able to care for the animals they rescue. We aid by providing deeply discounted and free veterinary care to many of these amazing local animal rescue groups. If you are interested in volunteering with one of these great groups or donating to help with the cause, please feel free to contact us and we can put you in touch with a group that interests you!
Timberlane Pet Hospital & Resort also functions as a local animal rescue ourselves. We get animals in a variety of ways, some have been found as strays, some relinquished by owners because of a terminal illness, and some have been pulled from our local Hillsborough County Animal Services Department because they were set to be euthanized. We always have a few dogs and cats available for adoption at our facility and if we don’t have one that you are interested in, just let us know what you are looking for and we will head you in the right direction to find your new family member.
